KNOW about lovely lavender… the floral symbol of love, devotion, and loyalty.
Legend has it that lavender was brought to Great Britain by the Romans. Widely used and highly valued, the Romans were aware of its healing, soothing, and insect-repelling properties.
Lavender oil was, and still is, used for massage, and it is said that nobody is allergic to lavender. The scent is calming, and wonderful to use for stress. A little bag of dried lavender florets under your pillow may help bring sleep.
It can help relieve colds, coughs, asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, flu, tonsillitis, laryngitis, stomach and bowel infections, fevers, headaches, bloating, insomnia, etc.
Lavender attracts insects such as bumble bees, ladybugs, and praying mantises that are beneficial to the farm or garden.
